Having previously lost to the Alabang Ibons, 5-0, during round 2 of the JML 7s League 2016, the Makati Chiefs ‘A’ now chase the Ibons in the plate, trailing by three points in the league table but have played one game less than the leaders. The Makati Chiefs ‘A’ won both their games during round 3, last weekend at Southern Plains, first beating Manila Hapons 12-5 in a close encounter. Chiefs captain and Philippine Volcano, Justin Villazor Coveney, secured the win over the Albay Vulcans ‘A’, with a try underneath the uprights. Alex Menard provided the extra 2 points, with a successful conversion and the game finished 19-12.

In the bowl division Makati Chiefs ‘B’ were able to record their first win of the competition, overcoming Albay Vulcans ‘B’ 15-5. The Chiefs only lost by two points to division leaders, CBRE Mavericks ‘C’. CBRE Mavericks ‘B’ will be looking to narrow the points gap this weekend in the plate after their bye during round 3. Subic Sharks, currently second in the bowl division, will have to wait and see how the league unfolds as they have a bye for round 4. Miriam College ‘A’ and ‘B’ also have byes in the women’s division whilst CBRE Lady Mavericks will look to take the lead from Alabang Lady Eagles, having defeated them last round. However, the Lady Eagles will be back to full strength with the return of Lady Volcano, Ada Milby.

Round 4 of the JML 7s League is this Saturday 8th October at 4.00pm at Blue Pitch, Circuit Makati.
