Makati FC rules first Yellow Cab Cup

Makati FC dominated the inaugural Yellow Cab Football Cup held at the Chelsea Blue Pitch in Makati on Saturday.

The Makati booters bagged the first place trophies in the Under-11 and Under-13 divisions while finishing second in the Under-9 age group.

The Makati FC children’s team beat the squad of host Kaya FC Yellow in the U11 class, 3-1, while their U13 squad outclassed La Salle Greenhills (LSGH), 3-2.

However, Makati FC fell short of claiming their third first place trophy in the U9 category after losing 3-1 to the varsity team of LSGH Field of Hope.

Gawad Kalinga SipaG program won the U15 division while the Brent International School Grasshoppers and British School Manila White dominated the U17 Girls and U7 groups.

“We’re glad to have made this opportunity for the kids to not only enjoy the sport, but also enable them to create a richer connection to the sport by giving it a deeper meaning,” Max’s Group Incorporated President and Yellow Cab Coach Robert Trota said.

He stressed they have made it their company’s mission to educate the children of today about the importance of sports in improving an individual’s well being.

“For kids who may be struggling with their day-to-day and find themselves engaged in less productive activities, or even kids who may just be looking for friends or a new skill, we want them to know that this is something they can enjoy and actually learn from,” he concluded.
