Makati issues closure order to 3 firms

The Makati Business Permit Office (BPO) recently served closure orders on three business establishments for operating without permit and violating Republic Act 9208 or the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2003. This brings to 230 the number of establishments ordered closed by Mayor Abby Binay since July last year. Found operating without a mayor’s permit are Dalat Authentic Vietnamese Cuisine in Barangay San Antonio and Pimentel Welding Shop in Barangay Rizal. On the other hand, Loreamar Spa Services in Barangay San Antonio was found to have violated the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2003 after a raid conducted by Makati Police last June 28 with the Makati Social Welfare Department. Upon taking office last year, Binay ordered the BPO, City Building Official and other concerned city agencies to intensify efforts to crack down on businesses operating illegally in the city “to protect the interest of legitimate businesses that have underpinned the sustained economic growth of Makati.”
