THE Philippine National Police (PNP) will deploy more police recruits in Makati City to upgrade its operational capability. PNP spokesman Chief Supt. Reuben Theodore Sindac said 346 rookie policemen and four non-uniformed personnel will be assigned to the Makati City Police Station. Sindac noted that Makati City, with a current population of 529,039, has a police to population ratio of 1:796, However, the PNP is also considering Makati’s estimated transient daytime population of 4.7-million concentrated in the city’s Central Business District. Sindac said the PNP will deploy more “desk bound” policemen to the field.
