Caloocan City Mayor Oscar Malapitan would rather focus on his job and responsibilities as chief executive of the city rather than give priority to the electoral protest lodged against him by his number one opponent for the mayoralty post, Nolan Sison, the mayor’s Public Information Office (PIO) chief, said.
Sison said Malapitan’s focus and concerns are the continued economic growth and development of Caloocan.
Sison said outgoing First District Rep. Enrico “Recom” Echiverri’s complaint against Malapitan filed at the Commission on Election (Comelec) was a “thing of the past” in so far as the mayor is concerned.
Echiverri insisted in his complaint that Malapitan’s camp intentionally committed cheating and massive vote buying during the election.
Malapitan defeated Echiverri by 150,000 votes.
Echiverri lost despite strong support from the Iglesia ni Cristo.
