A drug suspect who was pleading for his life was killed by policemen in Pasay City early Tuesday, a cellphone video obtained by a television station showed.
Eric Sison, 26, was shot dead when police caught up with him in Barangay 43, Zone 6.
A report by PO3s Alberto Barangas Jr. and Giovanni Arcinue of Pasay City Station Investigation and Detective Management Branch (SIDMB) said the incident occurred at 1:35 a.m.
According to the report, Sison shot the police mobile patrol and then ran away prompting the members of the Police Community Precinct 2 to give chase.
Police said Sison climbed on the roof of houses on Tramo Street and eventually entered a house through a window.
A cellphone video showed Sison negotiating with the police. He was surrendering and pleading for his life when successive gun shots were heard.
“Ito po, ito po, susuko na ako [Here, I surrender],” the suspect was heard saying.
Witnesses said a policeman, who followed Sison to the house that he entered, warned the residents not to interfere.
One resident, Felipe Matias, was hit by a stray bullet.
Scene of the Crime Operatives (Soco) allegedly recovered several sachets of suspected shabu, drug paraphernalia and a .38 caliber gun with ammunition from Sison.
