Man slips, falls from airport escalator


A 63-year-old man who just arrived from Taiwan was injured when he slipped and fell from an escalator at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3, airport police reported on Friday.

Police said 63-year-old Philip Teng Kwan, who was initially reported to be a Korean national, was immediately rushed to the NAIA terminal 3 medical clinic to dress the wound he suffered during the accident.
Kwan turned out to be a Filipino.

Airport police officer in charge Bong dela Cruz said Kwan went up to the third level to get a taxi shortly after he arrived from Taipei aboard Cebu Pacific Air flight 311.

According to people who witnessed the accident, the passenger’s luggage suddenly slipped from his hand causing him to lose balance.

Cruz said Kwan suffered lacerations on his left leg and right hand when he hit on the iron steps.
