THE Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) is a principal government agency tasked to generate funds for health services and programs of national character through charity sweepstakes races, lotteries and other similar activities.
In its 82 years of existence, PCSO has helped millions of Filipinos countrywide through the following programs: Individual Medical Assistance Program (IMAP), Institutional Program (IP), Endowment Fund Program, Medicines and Medical Supplies Donation Program, Medical Equipment for Hospitals and Other Health Institutions, Calamity Assistance Program, AFP/PNP Health Facilities’ Capability Building Project, Capability Enhancement Assistance-PCSO Primary Health Care Capability Building Project, Milk Feeding Program (MFP), Construction of Health Facilities, PCSO ASAP (At Source Ang Processing) Program, PCSO Enrolment System for Hemo and Peritoneal Dialysis Patients, Out Patient Services Program , Auxiliary Ambulance Service, Medical and Dental Mission, Medicine Donation Program (In Kind) and Ambulance Donation Program.
In addition to these programs, PCSO also provides funding support to various recipients commissioned to receive part of the agency’s earnings specifically to Local Government Units (LGUS’s E.O. 357, 357-A), Commission on Higher Education (CHED) R.A. 7722, Dangerous Drugs Board R.A. 9165, PDEA Operations E.O.218, Shelter & Urban Development Program R.A. 7835, Philippine Sports Commission R.A. 6847, Crop Insurance R.A. 8175, Nat’l Commission On Indigenous People, National Endowment Fund For Children TV, National Book Development Act, DFA Information on Migration, DOJ Juvenile Justice and Welfare Council R.A. 9344,Greater Medicare Access (GMA) Program E.O.447, DOH/NFA Murang Gamot, E.O.447, Bird Flu Awareness, National Museum Act R.A. 8492, OWWA-Congressional Migrant Workers Scholarship Fund R.A. 8042, SARS Awareness and Prevention E.O. 201, Ligtas Buntis Program of DOH E.O. 447, Quirino Memorial Medical Center R.A. 8313, Philippine Red Cross R.A. 3867 and R.A. 10072, Girl Scouts of the Philippines R.A. 620, National Council on Disability Affairs R.A. 4564, Quezon Institute R.A. 4703 and Boy Scouts of the Philippines (Commonwealth Act 595).
For the period January to August 2016, PCSO distributed a total of
Php 1.35 Billion as reflected in the presentation below. Further, a total of Php 8.79 Billion mandatory contributions was remitted to recipients from 2008 to 2015.
