Manhunt on for Masbate village chief’s killer


POLICE on Tuesday launched a manhunt for the two still unidentified suspects in the killing of a village chief and the wounding of his companion during an ambush in Masbate on Monday. Vicente Hugo, 55, chairman of Barangay Arado in Unson town and Marlon Bon, 38, were attacked at around 12:25 a.m. in Barangay Del Rosario. The reports said Hugo was riding a pillon being pulled by a motorcycle driven by Bon when the gunmen opened fire on them, killing Hugo on the spot. Bon was hit in the leg. Policemen recovered several empty shells of .45 caliber pistol from the scene.
