MANILA CATHEDRAL MAY OPEN DECEMBER – TAGLE

0

The restoration work of the Manila Cathedral will continue until next year, but the church might reopen by December, Archbishop of Manila, Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle said. “The workers said they will try to finish it by December- at least the interior but restoration work to the exterior [of the church]will continue,” Tagle said. “Let us pray that it will be fulfilled,” he added. On February 2012, the Manila Cathedral or formally known as the Cathedral-Basilica of the Immaculate Conception was closed after waning stability of the cathedral because of soil liquefaction, causing cracks on the walls and ceilings.
