Manila cops tagged in robbing returning OFW

A COUPLE identified three police officers who robbed them of P100,000 cash on September 2 at 4:15 a.m. along Quirino Avenue in Manila.

Noel Panganiban, 36, a seaman, and his wife Josephine, 31, identified the suspects from the photo gallery of the Manila Police District headquarters.

The victims said the policemen are PO3 Reynaldo Ferrer of Station 5, SPO1 Cornelio Flores Grayando of Station 4 and PO3 Joel Agujo Marquez of Public Safety Battalion.

Investigation head Senior Insp. Arsenio Riparip said he had invited the three colleagues, but they had not reported as of press time.

“If they don’t report today, we will file the proper charges before the Manila Prosecutor’s Office,” he added.

The victims said they were walking toward Roxas Boulevard when the police officers stopped them and forcibly opened their bag.

Upon seeing the money, one of the policemen took it.

After the incident, a certain Rolando Bituin accompanied the victims to the nearby police station to report the incident.
