Manila Doctors Hospital held a topping-off ceremony for a new building on T.M. Kalaw Street as part of a continuing effort to provide quality healthcare, officials said.
The final concrete slab on the roof of the new building was placed, with the project expected to be finished in the fourth quarter of 2016.
New services will be offered at the 18-story tower such as a Linear Accelerator, Brachytherapy, Cancer Center, and Vascular Clinic, the hospital said a statement.
Metrobank Group Chairman Dr. George SK Ty led the topping-off ceremony, with the members of the board of directors, senior management team, employees and staff, and partners from the construction team.
Also with them was Jose Maria Lim, president and CEO of infrastructure holding firm Metro Pacific Investments Corp. (MPIC) which recently acquired a 20-percent stake in Manila Doctors.
MDH is the healthcare affiliate of Metrobank Foundation Inc., the corporate social responsibility arm of the Metrobank Group, and is operated by the Manila Medical Services Inc.
A reporting member of the United Nations Global Compact, the hospital is an ISO 9001-2008 accredited institution recognized by Accreditation Canada International.
