Major roads will be closed to traffic today to give way to a dry run of security preparations for the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) leaders’ meeting scheduled next month.
The Manila Police District’s (MPD) Traffic Enforcement Unit said starting at 6 a.m., portions of Adriatico Street, Mabini Street, P. Ocampo Street, Quirino Avenue and Roxas Boulevard will be closed.
Motorists coming from the western portion of Manila who are supposed to pass P. Ocampo Street should take Roxas Boulevard to their destination.
Those passing President Quirino Avenue who intend to take Adriatico Street should go straight and turn left on Roxas Boulevard to their destination while those taking P. Ocampo Street from Taft Avenue should turn right at Adriatico Street to their destination.
The MPD advised motorists to take other alternative routes and to expect heavy traffic.
The APEC summit will be held in Manila from November 17 to 20.
