Even as he instructed all concerned offices to prepare the city from the onslaught of heavy rains, Manila Mayor Joseph Ejercito Estrada stressed that flooding can be minimized if drainage systems were cleared of obstructions.
“By latest count, we have completed 80 upgrading, concreting and drainage improvement projects since July, 2014. There are also 50 more projects already bidded out and in various stages of implementation,” said City Engineer Robert Bernardo.
