THE Manila Water Co. Inc. said the bid filed by its consortium with iWater Inc. has won the Tagum City Bulk Water Supply Project in Davao del Norte, Mindanao.
In a disclosure posted on the PSE website, Manila Water said it has received a letter from the Tagum City Water District (TCWD) saying the consortium has been awarded the project that will seek to develop a raw surface water source to supply the city’s water requirements.
The consortium of Manila Water and iWater will form a joint venture company with the city’s water district that will undertake the development and operation of the project.
“In accordance with the terms of the joint venture agreement, the TCWD and the consortium of Manila Water and iWater will form a joint venture company (JVC) which will undertake the performance of all obligations under the joint venture agreement and the bulk water supply purchase agreement,” the disclosure said.
In April, Manila Water expressed a plan to expand its operation in 15 other metropolitan areas to achieve robust growth.
