Ayala-led Manila Water Co. Inc. has installed a total of 910,772 water service connections at the end of the second quarter of 2013.
Ferdinand de la Cruz, Manila Water East Zone Business Operations Group director, said that the new water service connections will serve some 1.3 million households providing 24/7 clean and potable water in eastern Metro Manila and several towns of Rizal province.
“It is Manila Water’s commitment to provide each and every household situated at the East Zone a safe, potable and affordable water supply, especially those belonging to the marginalized sector that had difficulty gaining greater access to water services in the past,” de la Cruz said.
In June 2013 alone, he said that the company installed a total of 4,313 new water service connections, which consist of 4,228 domestic connections, 2,406 connections for the low-income customers, served through Tubig Para Sa Baranggay (TPSB) program and 85 commercial and industrial connections.
For the first and second quarter of 2013, Manila Water installed 14,624 new water service connections catering an additional 23,216 households at the east concession area.
“Manila Water is dedicated to provide water, wastewater and environmental services, which will not only empower people but also protect the environment and enhance sustainable development,” he said.
Manila Water is the private concessionaire of the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System in providing water and wastewater services to Marikina, Pasig, Makati, Taguig, Pateros, Mandaluyong, San Juan, portions of Quezon City and Manila and several towns of the nearby province of Rizal.
