THE Manila Zoological and Botanical Garden, popularly known as the Manila Zoo, has doubled its admission fees, from P50 to P100 for adults and from P30 to P60 for children. Manila residents get a 50 percent discount.
The increase in admission fees were based on Ordinance 8331 sponsored by Councilor Mon Yupangco.
The zoo is a favorite tourist spot for foreign and local visitors. Frequent visitors are students on field trips.
The 5.5-hectare zoo on Adriatico Street opened in July 1959.
