The art fair is presented by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) together with Bonafide Art Galleries Organization, Lifestyle Asia Magazine and the One Mega Group.

Started in 2009 with the support of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), ManilaArt has showcased over 2,500 works of Philippine artists through galleries participating from all over the Philippines. Last year alone, the four-day event at the SMX Convention Center Mall of Asia registered a visitorship of almost 11,000 art patrons, collectors, enthusiasts, and students.

Strengthened by the continued Government support, participation from other regions, and the private sector rallying behind the art fair, “Celebrating Variety” and “Art According To All” are apt as this year’s slogans.

ManilaArt further extends its reach this year by bringing in more regional galleries, thereby supporting the artistic communities which thrive outside of the National Capital Region.

In addition to pioneer member/exhibitor Tam-Awan Village of Baguio City, the Amarela Gallery of Bohol, Charlie’s Gallery of Bacolod City, Yaru Nu Artes Ivatan of Basco, Batanes and a huge contingent of Visayas-Mindanao artists (also known as the VizMin Group) as presented by Qube Gallery of Cebu City also join the 2013 art fair.

The Gala Night will open on October 9 at 6 p.m. The by-invitation-only affair expects to have foreign and local dignitaries, art collectors and enthusiasts, government officials and captains of industry, prominent artists and museum professionals to come in full attendance.

The regular run of the art fair will be from October 10 to 13 from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. The Walking Tour for students and enthusiasts will be held everyday with the following timeslots: 1 to 2 p.m., 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., and 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. A separate Walking Tour for bloggers, together with lectures and workshops will also be featured.

Parents who will be bringing children (ages 7 to12) get the chance to received storybooks illustrated by noted visual artists.
