Senator Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Thursday said that he and Sen. Miriam Defensor-Santiago have picked some candidates that will form part of their senatorial slate in 2016.
Among those being considered are Sarangani Rep. Manny Pacquiao, Leyte Rep. Martin Romualdez, Manila Vice Mayor Isko Moreno, and migrant workers’ rights advocate Susan “Toots” Ople.
“Those mentioned are the names that we have agreed upon,” Marcos said. He said Santiago may also come up with her own choice of candidates.
“As the campaign period approaches, we are working out all the details, I guess we now have nuts and bolts,” the senator said.
Ople and Moreno were included in the Senate slate of the tandem of Senators Grace Poe and Francis “Chiz” Escudero.
