SEN. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr. sent Wedenesday a congratulatory message to presumptive President-elect Rodrigo Duterte, who described himself as a ‘unifying leader.’
“May I congratulate my close friend, the ‘Mayor President Rodrigo ‘Digong’ Duterte,” the independent vice-presidential candidate from the Ilocos Region, said.
He added, “As the first President from Mindanao, I am certain you will continue our efforts in the peace process, in order to finally usher in a period of harmony and development in the Land of Promise.”
Marcos added that he wished Duterte the “best for you because when a President does well, so does the country.”
Marcos, according to quick counts, is trailing Rep. Leni Robredo, of the ruling Liberal Party, by 200,000 votes. The Ilocano senator claimed he is being cheated, a victim of dagdag-bawas (shaving-padding) scheme. JAIME R. PILAPIL
