Two days after A-list couple Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera held the baptism of their first-born Letizia, the first-time mother held a news conference to announce that she is all set to go back to work.
Looking as if she hadn’t given birth just last November, Rivera said she was resuming her hosting duties in GMA Network’s noontime show Sunday Pinasaya beginning today, as well as appearing as Ynang Reyna in the upcoming remake of the station’s hit fantaserye Encantadia, and finally taking charge of her own talk show in the coming weeks.
“Pero dinadahan-dahan ko lang,” the glowing mom clarified. “Hindi ko kakayanin yung tinatawag nilang separation anxiety.” [“I’ll take things slowly because I can’t bear to have separation anxiety from my daughter”].
Gracious in receiving compliments that she is looking more beautiful than ever, Rivera happily disclosed that she has no traces of late night feedings because she “trained” her baby well.
“Na-train ko siya na hindi siya iiyak para lang bigyan ko siya ng gatas. Ako kasi, parang manok akong matulog. Konting galaw lang niya gising na ako agad, at fini-feed ko na siya. [I was able to train her not to cry if she’s hungry, especially since I wake up easily when she makes the slightest move. So I feed her even before she can cry],” the 31-year-old Spanish-Filipino celebrity revealed. “Kaya hindi niya ako pinupuyat. [So she never keeps me up late].”
She hopes she can continue to breastfeed Baby Zia as long as she can even as her work schedule begins filling up.
“Siyempre, gusto ko ang pagiging ina. Masarap ang pakiramdam ng pagiging ina, at siyempre, priority ko pa rin ang anak ko na mapalaki ko siya nang maayos [I love being a mother, and it feels good to be a mother. And of course, my priority is my daughter and to raise her well],” Rivera explained. “Pero at the same time, kailangan ko rin magtrabaho para sa future niya [But at the same time, I also need to work for her future].”
Vocal ever since about wanting babies right away, Rivera, who married Dantes in December 2014, said she would be happy to have as many as four to five children.
“Nakaya kasi ng [I was able to have a] normal [delivery],” she laughed at her feigned cockiness.
However, many babies the stork will eventually send her and Dingdong’s way, it truly seems that Marian Rivera is very capable in fulfilling her latest role in life.
And as The Manila Times sends its congratulations to showbiz’ newest doting mother, so do these sincerest wishes that she strikes a balance between her career and her calling as best she can in the days to come.
