BATANGAS: Two unidentified gunmen killed a 60-year old city market administrator while two bystanders and a policeman were wounded in a shooting incident in Tanauan City on Tuesday. The gunmen were also killed by the responding police a few kilometers away from the public market. Tanauan police chief Superindent Chris Olazo identified the market administrator as Manolito Roxas ofBarangay Sambat, Tanauan City. Pol Hernandes, 16, of Barangay Hidalgo Tanauan City and Gemma Alipio, 49, of Calamba City were hit by stray bullets whilePO2 Roberto Janoras was injured during the gunfight. Police said Roxas had just taken his lunch and was smoking outside his office in Tanauan Public Market when two gunmen approached him from behind and shot him with a caliber 45 pistol around 12noon. Roxas was rushed to CP Reyes Hospital but died while being treated by Dr. Roldan Briones due to gunshot wounds in the head.
