Marlins welcome new manager Mattingly

MIAMI: The Miami Marlins introduced Don Mattingly as their new manager on Monday (Tuesday in Manila), making him the eighth team skipper since 2010. Miami owner Jeffrey Loria said he hopes to put a stop to the revolving door on the manager’s job, describing Monday’s move as a “long-term solution.” The 54-year-old Mattingly and the Los Angeles Dodgers parted ways after the playoff loss to the New York Mets. The Dodgers won the National League West for the third time in his five seasons with the Major League Baseball team.
