PHILIPPINE National Police (PNP) Chief, Director General Ricardo Marquez has warned police commanders in Batangas to shape up or ship out following the reported high crime incidents targeting economic locators in the province.
Marquez issued the warning during his visit to Batangas and Cavite PNP offices to inspect its Provincial Election Monitoring Action Center (PEMAC) for the forthcoming synchronized elections on May 9.
While seeing no possible elections clash points in Cavite and Batangas, Marquez has expressed concern for the later, owing to the existence of criminal groups that have been victimizing locators in the economic zone.
“I think it’s ultimate enough. If they cannot handle it, then it’s time for them to step down. I know it was very clear to them that I want those criminal gangs arrested,” Marquez said.
“This is because we have some concerns in Batangas. We want to protect the economic zones because a lot of locators are moving into our country from China,” he added.
“I think some officers there have to go… maybe they could perform better if assigned in the Autonomous Region for Muslim Mindanao (ARMM),” Marquez said.
