Marwan buried in Mamasapano -Espina

THE remains of terrorist Zulkipli Bin Hir alias “Marwan” was buried in Mamasapano, Maguindanao on the same day that he was killed by elements of the Philippine National Police Special Action Force (PNP-SAF) on January 25, according to the PNP.

PNP Officer in charge Deputy Director General Leonardo Espina told reporters in a chance interview in Camp Crame that they have received reliable information that Marwan’s supporters buried him on the day that he died.

“He had to be buried on the day of his death based on Muslim culture,” Espina told reporters.

Espina, however, did not specify the exact location where supporters buried the remains of Marwan, who carries a $5 million reward.

Residents of Brgy. Libutan in Mamasapano town earlier denied reports that Marwan was buried beside the Pusaka mosque, the oldest and most sacred mosque in the province of Maguindanao.

The residents said they would not allow a terrorist like Marwan to be laid to rest near the sacred mosque. Anthony Vargas
