Two employees of Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) at Masbate Airport were found positive of drugs during the first batch of random testing in three of its 81 managed airports nationwide. The Office of Flight Surgeon and Aviation Medicine (OFSAM) said the two personnel, who were not identified, were among the 232 employees of Masbate Airport. One of them who was under “job order” contract was automatically dismissed, according to CAAP assistant director general Rodante Joya. Workers in Tacloban and Laoag Airports were tested negative. It added that out of 1,551 employees who underwent narcotics screening last year, 18 were found positive for using shabu from the airports in Pagadian, Tacloban, Davao, Cotabato, Kalibo, Naga and Busuanga. Of them, 15 have been dismissed while the three remained under review.
