DENVER: Raymond Felton scored the winning basket with 1.5 seconds left in the second overtime as the Dallas Mavericks outlasted Denver 144-143, spoiling a 47-point performance by Nuggets’ Danilo Gallinari.
The 287 combined points makes this the highest-scoring NBA game since 2012, when Oklahoma City and Minnesota combined for 289 points.
Dallas survived blowing a 21-point halftime lead before Felton went on to score five of his 11 points in the second overtime period.
The Nuggets’ Kenneth Faried attempted a hook shot over Felton at the buzzer but missed.
Dirk Nowitzki tallied 25 points and nine rebounds for the Mavericks, who are already assured of the No. 7 playoff seed in the Western Conference.
Richard Jefferson scored 24 and Devin Harris finished with 21 on seven-of-nine shooting.
Gallinari’s career-high scoring night was the driving force behind the Nuggets’ second-half rally. It was the most points by a Denver player since Carmelo Anthony poured in 50 in 2011.
