Customers of Manila Water Co., Inc. and Maynilad Water Services, Inc. will be paying higher rates soon as the two water concessionaires announced on Friday that they would implement a rate adjustment in January.

The Ayala-led Manila Water informed the local bourse that it would implement a “C” factor adjustment, or consumer price index (CPI) adjustment of 2.8 percent as applied to the prevailing average basic charge (AVC) of P24.81 per cubic meter.
