• Mayor sacks 3 drug-positive traffic enforcers

ILOILO CITY: Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog has ordered the termination of employment for three workers assigned with the Transportation Management and Traffic Regulation Office (TMTRO). The three were found positive for illegal drugs after random tests were conducted in the city. Mabilog also instructed the three to seek rehabilitation at the Western Visayas Medical Center, with the City Government promising to help them in their rehabilitation. Earlier, Mabilog said he is not hiring new traffic enforcers this year and that the TMTRO will have to contend with its current personnel of 200. Mabilog added that the TMTRO is performing its function quite well and is streamlining its operation to wedge out misfits in the service.
