Mayor in trouble for P4.6-M unliquidated funds

SURIGAO del Norte Mayor Cesar Diaz of Tagana-an is facing criminal indictment for allegedly failing to liquidate P4.6 million in cash advances from January 2004 to September 2011. This developed after Ombudsman Conchita Carpio-Morales found probable cause to indict him for Failure to Render Accounts as defined in Article 218 of the Revised Penal Code, stemming from a complaint filed by State Auditor III Oscar Lerio.
