COTABATO CITY: Maguindanao Gov. Esmael Mangudadatu ordered mayors in the province’s 36 towns to implement the presidential executive order banning smokers in designated smoke-free areas.
The governor, on Thursday, issued an executive order directing “municipal chief executives to implement the President’s Executive Order No. 26 providing for the establishment of smoke-free environments in public and enclosed places.”
The local government units were tasked to acquire a designated smoking area in an “open space or separate area with proper ventilation subject to the specific standards provided under Executive Order No. 26” where smokers will be allowed to puff cigarettes.
The provincial government also ordered “the designation of every municipal administrator as person-in-charge, who shall perform the duties and obligations” set in the new national rule.
