BERJAYA Auto Phils. (BAP), exclusive distributor of Mazda in the country, announced it has signed a partnership with MFI Foundation Inc. Formerly called Meralco Foundation Inc., MFI is a non-profit science foundation that has been providing top-notch technical training and education in the Philippines for more than 30 years under its Industrial Technician Program (ITP), which specializes in automotive technology.
Signing the partnership were BAP President Steven Tan and MFI Foundation President Alejandro Escaño.
BAP said the two-year ITP course, which it will sponsor for 20 scholars, will include a one-year academic component at MFI and a 1,440-hour on-the-job training period at Mazda dealerships
“Our Mazda dealership network is expanding rapidly to keep pace with the industry growth and increasing customer demand for Mazda’s vehicles. We need a robust plan to rapidly level up our internal technical skill,” Tan said.
As part of the partnership agreement, BAP said it and MFI will also exchange technology trends and on-site training activities. BAP said it will donate Mazda components to be used in the training course.
