McDonald’s Philippines on Monday rolled out its first multiple card payment facility to provide more convenience to its customers.
Romeo Bachoco, McDonald’s Philippines executive vice president, said the payment facility is intended to cut payment service time in a safe and more convenient way.
“The payment facility will give more convenience to our customers and will lower our operating cost,” he said. He believes the new payment system will also improve the store’s income.
The improved efficiency in store operation reflects the company’s continuing innovation and commitment to fast service, Bachoco said.
For its initial implementation, at least 30 McDonald’s restaurants in Metro Manila have been equipped with a terminal to accept contactless card payments from Mastercard PayPass, VISA Paywave, e-Plus Tap To Pay Card and Sweep Card.
The facility allows customers to do card transactions without having to enter a PIN or sign a receipt through the radio frequency identification (RFID) technology that ensures secure payments.
McDonald’s Philippines’ president and CEO Kenneth Yang said more of their stores both in Metro Manila and provincial areas will be equipped with this technology.
“We never stop working towards an easier and more convenient way for customers to order and enjoy their McDonald’s favorites,” said Yang.
Customers can also look forward to contactless payment at Drive-Thru counters and McDonald’s McDelivery service.
“The technology is another first in the local service restaurant industry, as it uses a single terminal to accept cards from different issuers.
Through this, we have also formed partnerships with trusted brands to offer only the best service to our customers,” Yang added.
