MEASLES INCREASING IN CAM SUR; ONE DEATH REPORTED IN ALBAY

LEGAZPI CITY: A week after the health department of Bicol warned the public, health and local officials of increasing measles cases, in Albay province a grade 1 pupil reportedly succumbed to death due to measles disease here. Albay has the highest cases of measles throughout the six provinces of Bicol based on the record of the Department of Health regional office for the first week of January. The suspected casualty of measles was identified as Anthony Buella, 7, from Hacienda, San Miguel Island in Tabaco City, radio report said. Though, public health physician Nathaniel Rempillo, provincial health officer of Albay refused to confirm the report saying they’re in the process of investigation. “We’re still investigating the case,” Rempillo told The Manila Times.
