Medical and dental records for students required

A Quezon City lady councilor has proposed an ordinance requiring the city’s private and public schools to have their students medical and dental records readily available to proper authorities when needed. Councilor Candy Medina (6th Dist.) the ordinance’s principal author said that these records may come in handy to monitor the health progress of the students or in extreme cases, identify dead persons in advance state of decomposition or those whose bodies were severely burned. In many cases bodies of dead persons in such state were never identified as the concerned law enforcement agencies failed to obtain their dental and medical records.
