Medrano leads MOS plum awardees

Angelica Mae Medrano of Wesleyan College of Manila and Paula Carmela Cusing of Diliman Preparatory School bannered the Most Outstanding Swimmer (MOS) awardees in Class B-C of the 88th Philippine Swimming League (PSL) National Series – Inter-School/Inter-Club Motivational Yearender Swimming Meet held at the Diliman College swimming pool in Quezon City.

Medrano earned 50 points, good enough to claim the girls’ 15-over top honors while Cusing got 47 points to pocket the girls’ 12 years MOS trophy in the tournament supported by The Manila Times and Sen. Nikki Coseteng.

Joining them in the spotlight were Trump Christian Luistro of Hope Christian School-Legazpi (boys’ 7), Heather White of British School of Manila (girls’ 8), Felice Alexis Reyes of Wesleyan College of Manila (girls’ 13) and Patrick Vidal of Camp Aguinaldo Streamline Swimming Team (boys’ 8).

“We are happy seeing these kids improve. Mas kailangan namin silang tutukan para mas gumanda pa ang mga oras nila. Maraming promising swimmers sa batch na ito and we’re looking forward to see them grow,” said PSL President Susan Papa.


The other MOS winners were Rafael Jon Escalona (boys’ 5-under), Estelle Margaret Mendez  (girls’ 6), Kyle Dexter Gruta (boys’ 6), Quantereulle Light Qangkay (girls’ 7), Tiffany Shaine Sanchez (girls’ 9), Ivan Franz Ferrer (boys’ 9), Euleah Daphne Ann Balili (girls’ 10), Prince Jheffy Ruzhen Angeles (boys’ 10), Karylle Angeline Ambata (girls’ 11), Meynard Bautista (boys’ 11), Zachie Gallegos (boys’ 12), Ken Iverson Ogsila (boys’ 13), Alliah Saliendra (girls’ 14), Jericho Ramacho (boys’ 14) and Randy Llantino (boys’ 15-over).

Winning gold medals on the final day were Justin Gallardo, Ashley Bacera, Gabrielle Pasao, Maria Fe Ebonite, Roniel Lood, Mao Abel, Ramon Viray, Shannah Borja, Sharmaine Sumampong, Yvonne Edralin, Jayani Balutan, Emmanuel Hernandez, Jmykl Gallardo, Ajay Kumar Gabriel, Gabriell Soriano, Nicole Espinosa, Jameela Del Valle, Krizelle Basilio, inigo Gigantone, Neal Dable, Noel Nunez, Sophia Valencia, Araz Baldazo, Kyna Figueroa, Rea Santos, Phionna Politico, Kurt Peters and Julius Zamora.

PSL is a national sports swimming association for Universities and Colleges accredited by the Federation of School Sports Association of the Philippines (Fessap), internationally affiliated member of Federation of International Sports University (FISU).
