In the early ‘90s, Hollywood actors Michael Keaton, Val Kilmer and George Clooney had all portrayed DC Comics’ Batman in successive films. By the 20th century, Christian Bale became the modern Batman for The Dark Night trilogy. Come 2016, another A-list Hollywood actor, Ben Affleck, will give life to the iconic superhero for the much-anticipated Batman vs. Superman film.

And while it’s still a long wait before viewers can witness Affleck’s portrayal on the big screen, they can opt to watch the youngest Batman to date. He is 13-year-old David Mazouz who will appear as the young Bruce Wayne in the new TV series, Gotham.

As an origins story of DC Comics super-villains and vigilantes, Gotham, however, revolves around Commissioner James Gordon (Ben McKenzie of The O.C. fame), his turbulent and singular rise through the Gotham City police department,

From executive producer and writer Bruno Heller (The Mentalist, Rome), the one-hour crime-drama also follows on the characters who will become DC Comics’ most renowned and enduring villains, including a teenaged Selina Kyle or the future Catwoman (Camren Bicondova) and Oswald Cobblepot, aka The Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor).

Also making its debut in the criminal roster is notorious gang boss Fish Mooney, played by popular actress, Jada Pinkett-Smith.
