The championship contenders in the remaining age groups brace for action following the crossover semifinals of the Youth Football League (YFL) on Sunday at the Alabang Country Club Multipurpose Field in Muntinlupa City.
Ten teams from six clubs prevailed over their respective opponents to enter the finals of the Under-19 (U-19), Under-15 (U15) and Under-11 (U-11) divisions of the Cup and Plate championships.
Mendiola FC pulled off a 2-1 stunner against Global FC to set up a title showdown with Kaya FC, which accomplished a 7-1 drubbing of Ceres Negros Youth FC, in the Cup Championship of U19.
Loyola Meralco Sparks FC netted a goal in the first half enough to beat Ceres Negros Youth, 1-0, while MSA Agila FC soared past Kaya, 4-3, in U15.
MSA Agila overwhelmed Forza FC, 6-0, even as Kaya scored a goal in the added time to edge out Loyola Meralco Sparks, 6-5, in U11.
Meanwhile, in the fixtures under the Plate Championship, Loyola Meralco already grabbed U19’s lower-tier trophy as it thrashed Stallion Laguna FC, 6-3.
JP Voltes FC and Stallion Laguna emerged victorious over Forza (5-2) and Global (2-1) respectively in U15.
Ceres Negros outgunned Nomads FC on a penalty shootout while JP Voltes crushed Global, 3-0, in U11.
The championship games in the three age groups will be played this coming weekend.
