The Loyola Meralco Sparks FC signed former Philippine national team head mentor Aris Caslib as coach.
Caslib, the long time coach of San Beda College groomed the Red Lions into a formidable squad in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) football tournament. He led San Beda, his alma matter, to numerous NCAA titles plus a championship in the 2008 Philippine University Games.
Caslib coached the national team in various regional tourneys including the Southeast Asian Games and the Asian Football Confederation Challenge Cup.
Currently the head of the technical department of the Philippine Football Federation, Caslib has been known as one of the most accomplished coaches in the country. He was named chief deputy of current Azkals coach Thomas Dooley earlier this year.
The Meralco Sparks are among the pioneer teams in the upcoming Philippines Football League that will be launched in the first quarter of 2017.
