METRO TRAFFIC ENFORCERS UP FOR REVAMP

To ward off corruption, traffic enforcers in Metro Manila will undergo a major reshuffle by the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA). MMDA Chairman Francis Tolentino said traffic enforcers with serious offenses will be relieved from their present position while those with pending cases of extortion and harassment will be transferred to other assignment. “Layunin din ng balasahan ay para mawala yung familiarity kung saan sila naka-assign [The revamp also aims to prevent familiarity of their respective assignment],” Tolentino explained. The MMDA, according to Tolentino, is targeting to implement the major revamp in its traffic unit before the school opening in June.
