PRESIDENT Rodrigo Duterte on Wednesday confirmed the presence of the Mexican “Sinaloa” drug cartel in the Philippines, as he reiterated his commitment to fight illegal drugs.
In a speech in Malacañang, Duterte said the Philippines has no place for the Sinaloa cartel, considered the largest and most powerful drug trafficking organization in the West.
“Is Mexico into us? Yes, the Sinaloa cartel is already here through transshipment,” the President said.
“They’re being eradicated by the US government that’s why they operate here. Sinaloa is active. I never, never, never, hoist a lie. I’m telling you,” he added.
