MEXICO CITY: Mexico has objected to the United States about a potential plan to separate immigrant children from their parents if they try to illegally enter the US, an official said Tuesday.

If the United States pursues that idea, “many families” will suffer an “irreversible damage,” said Foreign Minister Luis Videgaray said at a news conference.
