Mexico Senate urges probe into alleged cartel meet


MEXICO CITY: Mexico’s Senate asked prosecutors on Thursday (Friday in Manila) to investigate allegations that henchmen of the Knights Templar drug cartel attended a meeting with lawmakers inside the upper house. The Senate leadership said in a statement that it has “presented a complaint to the federal attorney general’s office regarding the presence of alleged members of organized crime in the legislative chamber on October 17.”
