MILF ‘decommissioning’ another moro-moro

7

Tuesday’s “decommissioning” of a group of guerrillas belonging to the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) is truly a historic moro-moro, featuring Noynoy Aquino himself as “key witness” to the symbolic handover of some 70 of the rebels’ firearms to an international peace panel.

The ceremony was nothing but a symbolic gesture of the MILF’s peace offer.

So, it was not an act of surrender, neither was it MILF’s pledge of allegiance to the Philippine flag.

It would have been nice if those, who yielded assorted firearms to the so-called Independent Decommission Body and got cash incentives, were actually surrendering for feasting on the Special Action Force troopers in the January 25 “pintakasi” in Mamasapano.

If the MILF really wants to show sincere efforts to forge peace, its hundreds of combatants must lay down their firearms and pledge allegiance to the Republic.

It must surrender the perpetrators of the Mamasapano massacre among them.

The decommissioning is all for show, a contrived moro-moro intended to dupe the people into buying into the Bangsamoro Basic Law garbage.

So, there you have one of the talking points of Noynoy’s upcoming State of the Nation Address, the “historic decommissioning” of a platoon of the MILF.

Wait till the Trojan Horse, which is the BBL, will have been passed and swarms of these separatist guerrillas will come out in the open.

Wouldn’t it be great if China simply gives up the West Philippine Sea, otherwise known as South China Sea, and areas it now occupies once the United Nations tribunal decides these territories belong to us?

Sans Chinese participation, the UN Convention on Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) is expected to hear the Philippines’ case against the Chinese claim on the disputed sea territories just in time for Noynoy’s SONA in the last week of July.

That would be another talking point for the President, whose Charter change plot was aborted last week at Congress.

Just like the BBL, the attempted act of lasciviousness to tinker with the 1987 Constitution did not muster enough support among the lawmakers.

Kung minsan sinusumpong din ng katinuan ang ating mambabatas.

Trouble with a ‘no-brainer’ president
The ruling Liberal Party is nearing collapse with the Balay faction apparently decided to go out on a limb to field Mar Roxas as the administration standard in next year’s elections while another faction is pushing Senator Grace Poe as presidential bet.

This surfaced even as Noynoy’s bagman Butch Abad assured that Mar is their man in 2016, with or without the popular Poe as his running-mate.

Again, Noynoy has himself only to blame for his party’s predicament.

It should have been a no-brainer for the President who should make good his promise to allow Mar to take his turn at the presidency or at least to make a run for it.

What’s taking this dude so long to endorse a man who sacrificed his dream of being president and let him run instead in 2010 in the wake of Cory Aquino’s dramatic demise?

Wala yatang talagang utang na loob ang mamang ito. That’s what people are thinking.

Precisely that’s the trouble with having a no-brainer at the helm in Malacanang.

  1. Can’t endorse Roxas who has a very low rating in surveys! Can’t endorse Binay because of LP ! Even endorsing POE has potential for problems what if POE is proven to be ineligible and a daughter of Marcos! The president is in a predicament!

  3. No BBL no surrender of firearms says the MILF.
Why not the government says No Surrender of firearms No BBL?
Does our country surrender to the internal threat by MILF?
We don’t know what the AFP does when outside forces would threat us.
    Well said Mr Tulfo.

Not only was the decommissioning a farce and moro-moro but also a confirmation of the intent of the MILF to secede given the chance. The statement of Iqbal or Abas that the MILF is a small nation is no longer a shocker as he always maintained in previous statements that the MILF is a revolutionary organization. P-Noy, Ferrer, Deles, et al are MILF partners. The Filipino people must and should protect the Philippine Constitution. God bless the Philippines.

I agree that this so called decommissioning is a MORO MORO.
I do believe that Sec. Mar Roxas decency is his Achilles tendon to the Presidency.

  6. Well said Erwin Tulfo on the moro-moro “decommissioning” and the “no-brainer” pecos President!
