• MILF killing of PNP commandos an omen

    16

IT’S happening again. Aquino administration officials, including those involved in the campaign to give the Moro Islamic Liberation Front a substate or autonomous region to be called the Bangsamoro (the Moro country or the Moro state or the Moro nation), and their brownnosing followers in the military, are blaming the at least 49 Philippine National Police Special Action Force (PNP-SAF) commandos killed by warriors of the MILF last Sunday.

The slain commandos, said PNP Chief Leonardo Espina, were pursuing a well-known terrorist belonging to the Southeast Asian terrorist group Jemaah Islamiyah. That man, a Malaysian, Zulkifli bin Hir alias Marwan, is among the United States’ most wanted terrorist and has a $5 million bounty on his head. Marwan is said to have been with a Filipino bombmaker, Basit Usman. He is a commander of the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF), an army of former or current MILF members, who have been committing outrages against Christians and government units whenever they feel aggrieved over something.

The MILF leaders have been talking from both sides of their mouths about the BIFF.

That is why it is not clear to government police and military if these fighters are still MILF men or now enemy defectors.

Two years ago, in Al-Barka, Basilan province, 19 government soldiers were killed in pursuit of terrorists. MILF fighters ambushed and massacred the 19 soldiers. Investigators appointed by the Aquino administration concluded that the 19 slain soldiers were to blame because they had not given the MILF authorities information about what they were doing. But how could they have done that when they were in hot pursuit of enemies of the Republic? How could they inform the MILF, which is made up of the same warrior terrorists they were going after?

The House ad hoc panel on the Bangsamoro Basic Law suspended its hearings. The Senate also suspended its hearing on the Bangsamoro Basic Law.

“Certainly, the death of the policemen sets back everything. How can we proceed if these threats are happening? On whether we can rebound from this, it will depend on the report of the [government]agencies [on the incidents],” Chairman of the House committee Rufus Rodriguez said. He has asked the authorities of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, the PNP and President Aquino’s Office of the Presidential Assistant on the Peace Process to submit results of their investigation on the massacre of the 49 (some say 52) PNP commandos by February 6.

Antipolo City Rep. Romeo Acop, a retired police brigadier general, said the viciousness of the MILF is unforgivable. “How is killing of people who are performing an official duty justified? In all norms of conduct, that is not justified,” Acop told The Manila Times. He added that “the MILF should be made answerable. Otherwise, the government will lose its credibility.” But the Aquino government has long ago lost its credibility!

Congressman Acop’s words are diametrically opposed by Aquino officials eager to get on with Congress’ passage of the Bangsamoro Basic Law to please the MILF, their Malaysian patrons and the Western Powers. These officials are agreeing with the MILF commanders’ claim that the PNP commandos deserve to die because they entered MILF “territory” without coordinating with the MILF command.

Even before the creation of the “symmetrical to the Philippine government” (meaning independent) Bangsamoro state, the MILF separatist rebels already have their “sovereign” territory that our Republic’s policemen cannot enter.

    1. My Filipino compatriots, this Bangsamoro agreement WILL GIVE AWAY our Mindanao to the Muslims. Are you willing to lose Mindanao? ALL FILIPINOS TELL AQUINO TO JUNK BANGSAMORO !!!!

    2. We cannot blame PNoy for treasonous acts against the Philippine sovereignty. After all, he come from a family well-known for treasonous acts: his grandfather was a war time Japanese collaborator; Ninoy was a Malaysian collaborator by leaking the top-secret Jabidah Operation to the Malaysians through a public expose in Congress; PNoy is traitor to our country through his insistence for a Bangsa Moro Sub-state in violation of the Philippine Constitution. His allegiance is actually to the western powers, specifically, the US in exchange for economic benefits for his patron oligarchs.

    3. The Aquino Government already lost its credibility when he turned his back on those 19 Scout Rangers. And again, with this massacre, this administration proved that it will sacrifice its loyal soldiers or may be even the civilians just to be on a page of Philippine history.

    4. This is where we stand. The MILF already controls the south and Philippine forces cannot enter there without permission. Our PNP forces went there without permission and were killed. In the eyes of the MILF the war is over and the Philippines surrendered. In my eyes our sissy boy president will do nothing against the MILF and continue to push for the BBL. I am certain the MILF see it the same way. We need a president who does the right thing. Almost 50 policemen were killed. Bring the killers to justice.

I only have one question. Why the Philippine army and the Philippine law enforcement has to ask permission from the MILF, MNLF & BILF to enter their territory. Is that not part of the Philippines? Send the troops and make an all out war against the moros.

      • Because it’s part of the ceasefire agreement, which more or less states that no MILF should get out of their territory without informing the AFP and likewise, the authorities of the Republic of the Philippines should not enter the territory of the MILF without prior coordination. Here goes the complication.

    6. The President has no moral decency to condone the abuses of the MILF. He should throw away into the garbage this Bangsamoro Law and declare war against these lawless elements just like what Erap did before his ouster. There is no sense pleasing these bands of marauders by killing our soldiers with impunity. PNOY should pursue and pulverize them. The problem with PNoy is that, his ideas are incoherent and rumbling. He got no balls and political will to institute discipline. God save Juan de la Cruz!

    7. Are our law enforcement agencies so helpless that they need prior notice or coordination with
MILF. I am not aware there are parts of the Philippines already under exclusive jurisdiction of
rebel group. Think the situation when BBL becomes a law. Filipinos might need visas to go to Mindanao.Peace at what price? This government for want of a legacy is throwing away all caution to the wind.

    8. Unfortunately, the government is a hostage in its search for peace. They have traditions that are contrary to peaceful coexistence. Their lives and dignity are measure by the power of their guns. They know very well how to get what they want.

    9. Just give that area to the muslims as a different state and deport all muslims to that area. Improve the military and police equipment and guard the borders closely. Demolish all mosques and make religions that encourage violence illegal.

And, while Filipino policemen are being massacred in Mindanao, the Senate continues to engage in non-productive political high-jinks via their “investigations in aid of legislation”.

the deadly encoubter that claimed the loss of lives of mol 50 policemen in mamsapano is a clear manifestation how corrupt the defacto government of aquino administration. it seems that his negotiator on the grounds did not know what is the real situation on the lowest level of the populace. this happening will repeat again and again until we all die.

    12. This tragedy again proves how anti-Philippine Republic are President BS Aquino, his men and women who have been kowtowing to the Moro Islamic Liberation Front leaders — and Malaysia, who are the sponsors and funders of the MILF separatist rebels–so he could get a Nobel Peace Prize. Aquino and his treasonous peace negotiators completely ignored the Moro National Liberation Front, the Sultanate of Sulu and North Borneo, the Lumads and the Christians of MIndanao, and the Muslims of Mindanao who are happy with the imperfect but sustainable Autonomous Region in Muslim MIndanao. Aquno et al just went ahead and entered into treasonous and unconstitutional agreements with the MILF and, in effect, Malaysia.
Tama po kayo, Manila Times. Pagpalain po kau ng Maykapal. “Even before the creation of the “symmetrical to the Philippine government” (meaning independent) Bangsamoro state, the MILF separatist rebels already have their “sovereign” territory that our Republic’s policemen cannot enter.” Lalo nang ganyan ang magyayari pag pinayagang magkaroon ng Bangsamoro substate or region. Yan ang umpsa ng pagwarak sa ating Republika/

    13. I posted these comments in other daily. Not exactly what your opinion airs but highly related to the tragedy. “….These women, Atty. Ferrer and Senator Santiago are both out of their minds. Come on Senator Santiago, I want to hear from you how can you stomach the sight of fatherless children and widowed women. Don’t go into technicalities that the BBL still a go because you and this administration, especially the negotiators want it passed. What interest do you have that you are dead bent in passing the BBL. What peace are you talking about Atty. Ferrer. I am asking you, is there a GOOD FAITH on the part of your counterpart in the MILF and the MILF itself? So while this ceasefire and BBL deliberation is ongoing, NOBODY IS ALLOWED TO ENFORCE PHILIPPINE LAWS IN MOROLAND? If you Madam Ferrer wants to have a fair share of legacy in Philippine history, this BBL your legacy is a nation wrecker. Instead of airing your condolences to the families of the deceased servicemen, you are talking that your “BBL baby” should not be adversely affected by the massacre. This is inhuman. Your attitude and stand on this issue smacks of disregard to human lives. To you, BBL still should pass whatever is the collateral damage because you do not care about the poor servicemen’s lives because that is their job and paid to die if needed. I hate to say this but, WAS EVERYBODY FROM THE PALACE DOWN TO THE NEGOTIATORS LIKE YOU PAID BY FOREIGN GOVERNMENT WHO HAVE STAKES IN MINDANAO? Probably by Malaysia, the US, EU or Britain. We must remember that Malaysia is a protege of Britain being a former colony and who turned over the lease of Sabah to them; twisted the facts and ended up allegedly being ceded to them…”

The killing of 49 or so SAF policemen by MILF soldiers is proof that parts of Mindanao have already become fully independent from the Philippine government of BS Aquino.
