Mindanao journalist
gunned down in Sultan Kudarat


COTABATO CITY: A radio reporter and newspaper columnist in Central Mindanao was gunned down on Monday in Sultan Kudarat, police here said.

Senior Supt. Raul Supiter, Sultan Kudarat police director, said Leodoro Diaz was killed by two men on board a motorcycle at 9 a.m. just after he stepped out of his house in the village of Katiko, in the town of President Quirino.

Diaz sustained multiple gunshot wounds in his body that resulted in his immediate death, said Supiter.

Investigation is ongoing.

The 60-year-old Diaz was working as a freelance reporter at Radio Mindanao Network (RMN) and a columnist of Sapol Newspaper.
