AMONG the complains of residents in the mineral-rich upland village of Didipio in the town of Kasibu, Nueva Vizcaya, is the alleged diminishing quality of potable water, which they attribute to the activities of Australian mining firm OceanaGold in the area.
No other than Environment Secretary Roy Cimatu challenged mining companies during the recently held 64th National Mine Safety and Environment Conference in Baguio City, to prove that they are worth giving a chance to practice responsible mining with utmost sincerity.
