Quezon City is set to roll out a festive array of events in the lead up to its historic 75th anniversary in October 2014.
The celebrations kicked off with the coronation night of the Miss Quezon City Diamond Jubilee Queen at the AFP Theater in Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City
Shecill Bagaporo from Roxas District emerged the winner, with a cash prize of P200,000. She is tasked to serve the city’s ambassadress in all of the official activities of the diamond year.
Meanwhile, Roanna Ray Addie Jose was named first runner up and Miss Business; Renee Soraya Hassani, second runner-up) and Miss Environment; and Patrixia Sherly Santos third runner-up and Miss Social Empowerment. The three lovely ladies will assist Bagaporo in her duties as Miss Quezon City.
Bagaporo promised she take the responsibility of her crown seriously.
Already she has plans to help the various community service programs of the local government, especially those that help alleviate the plight of the less fortunate residents of Quezon City.
Hosted by KC Montero and Miss Earth-Philippines 2012 the pageant also featured special performances from crooner Oj Mariano, iconic composer Jose Mari Chan, and R&B artists Jay-R, and Luke Mejares.
The panel of judges was comprised of Mark Louie Gamboa of Erase Placenta, former beauty queen Gem Padilla, seasoned fashion model Marina Benipayo, Mr. World-Philippines John Spainhour, top photographer Raymond Isaac, fashion designer Edgar Madamba, and former Quezon City Vice Mayor Connie Angeles who had been named the very first Miss Quezon City.
