Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) announced last week issued a safety inspection campaign on certain units of the L200 and Strada pick-up to check on their airbag inflators. While there has been no reported failure in the Philippines so far, MMPC and Mitsubishi Motors Corporation decided to pursue this proactive and preventive measure to ensure the safety of their customers.
According to a statement released by MMPC, the time required to inspect, and if needed, replace the affected airbag will take an hour, at the most. Those models included in the safety campaign are the L200 and Strada models made from 2007-2014. MMPC assured customers that the procedure shall be free of charge.
Affected units can be determined by checking the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) of their units and cross-reference it with the list of affected vehicles posted on MMPC’s press release in their website (http://mmpc.ph/pressrelease/mitsubishi-motors-philippines-announces-safety-inspection-campaign-for-airbag-inflator-for-l200-and-strada).
Affected customers are requested to call their preferred dealership for a service appointment to ensure smooth servicing.
Customers may also get in touch with MMPC Customer Care at telephone numbers (+632) 250-8888 Monday to Friday from 7:30 a.m to 3:30 p.m. All authorized Mitsubishi Motors Service Centers nationwide are also ready to attend to any related customers’ inquiry and concerns.
