The Mitsubishi Mirage Metro Challenge flagged off on May 9 with six celebrities teaming up with college students to battle wits and brains for three weekends, as they go around the metropolis using the Mitsubishi Mirage G4.
The celebrity team leaders with two other college student teammates form six teams of three to go against each other in the hopes of winning and being dubbed as the first Mitsubishi Mirage Metro Challenge Champions. Celebrity team leaders include the beautiful actress Ellen Adarna; rock legend Rico Blanco; actor and singer Markki Stroem; volleyball superstar Gretchen Ho; Internet action star Ramon Bautista; and the lovely Cheats lead singer Saab Magalona.
Forming the Mirage Team Ellen are Ellen Adarna, Patrick Lozano and Maria Sabrina Estavillo. The Mirage Team Rico includes Rico Blanco, Mars Legaspi and Danielle Ruth Ting. The Mirage Team Markki has Markki Stroem, Aerwin John Frias and Abby Gabriel. Meanwhile, the Mirage Team Gretchen includes Gretchen Ho, Aresenio Padilla 3rd and Mikelo Joy Ormita. For Team Ramon, the members are Ramon Bautista, Niko Franciso and Mary Juanne Antonette Pintado. Finally, Team Saab is composed of Saab Magalona, Charlemagne Barceta and Alex Samson.
Highlighting the fun, practicality, and functionality of the brand, the Mitsubishi Mirage Metro Challenge brings about various challenges that require skill, intelligence, automotive capabilities, and use of the stand out features of the Mitsubishi Mirage and Mirage G4.
In the challenge, the teams are provided with numerical coordinates, which they have to input into the Mirage G4’s GPS system. The GPS then guides the team to area. Once they reach the destination, the team members must look for the game area where tasks are then given. Points are awarded depending on how fast and accurate the tasks are completed. Once complete, the teams are provided with another set of coordinates where they will complete a different set of tasks. The challenge goes on the entire day area.
The challenge began on May 9 at the Quezon City Memorial Circle, with the second part held on May 16 at the Bonifacio Global City. On May 30, the final challenge will be staged at the SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City.
Points earned from each challenge and online votes will be accumulated to determine each team’s points.
The champion team takes home P100,000 each with the celebrity’s winnings donated to his or her charity of choice. Second place non-celebrity teammates receive P50,000 each, while the third place non-celebrity teammates receive P30,000 each. The rest of the non-celebrity team members will receive a consolation prize of P10,000 each.
